The point: I suppose many would ask "what's the point?", and there really isn't one. If you wanted to include additional races from D&D you could use the variants from Run Faster, or modify them, or just say some races died out (or were killed off) in the intervening centuries). I suppose a few things would/could change, like Corp or equipment names, though I don't think they'd need to. Instead of running in Seattle (for example), you'd be running in a modern version of Waterdeep (again, example). There would be no Awakening or goblinization, the magic and races just would have always been around.

Specifics: The mechanics wouldn't change, it would still be pure SR rules. What if Shadowrun, instead of being near-future 'real world' was set in the FR, advanced a few hundred or a thousand years? The idea: Getting Forgotten Realms chocolate in my Shadowrun peanut butter.
#Slug obsidian portal trial
It's been a love affair ever since, except for a trial separation period during 4th Edition. I was first introduced to Shadowrun in late '89 while I was in the Army. My favorite setting, by far, for that game was original Forgotten Realms. It's more of a gauge to see if anyone else has ever had the thought, and what others who haven't might have to say.īackground: I started with D&D in '79 or '80, my favorite flavor being 1st Ed. I'm not claiming there's anything wrong with the SR setting as is (I fragging LOVE it), or that the following idea makes it better in any way. "Watch your back, shoot straight, conserve ammo, and never, ever, cut a deal with a dragon."ĭisclaimer: This is just a thought I've had off and on for the last 26 years or so. If you are able to kill all of the villagers you can have all the superwheat to yourself.

It does 2 hearts of damage without armor on. The villagers reincarnated and made of gold have very good attack speed and they have the same health as durability on a golden tool. Don't think about trying to steal the supetwheat though.

Superwheat drops 10 bread per growth stage. Poroceed futrher to find a village that is made out of obsidian and a rare new plant called superwheat. He drops 3 nether stars, 60 ancient debris, and he drops a stack of each ore. This giant has 1000 health but it will be worth it if you kill him. Exploring further into the depths you will find ruins that contain chests and has a menacing giant in front of it made entirely of ancient debris. The nether rabbit is hostile on sight and drops 1 of each ore upon death. There would be a new mob called the nether rabbit. The portal color is going to be black.Īfter your in the depths youll notice there is ancient debris in the ceiling as well as some purple vines. A good idea for a new biome would be the depths you need to make a portal frame out of crying obsidian and you must light it with a lava bucket.
